As stated in the image on the left first the printer starts by the most simplest thing static energy. I said the most simplest thing because it can generate by the most easiest thin, rubbing your hands together which creates static energy. Than it gets in to the drum which gives positive energy. Than the laser 'draws' letters and images on the paper and finishes required programs to get the final result
